Even though the Los Angeles Chargers have plenty of cap space, the team has decided to move on from one veteran they might believe isn't worth the money.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chargers are releasing veteran cornerback Casey Hayward. The 31-year-old has spent the last five seasons with the Chargers.

Hayward would have counted for $11.75 million against the 2021 cap. Per Over The Cap, releasing him saves L.A. $9.75 million.
The 31-year-old was a Pro Bowler in 2016 and 2017, but he hasn't been as effective in recent years. Last season, Hayward recorded one interception and 41 tackles.
